Trinidad Fombella is a London-based curator and cultural strategist with expertise in artist development, exhibition-making, and collection-building. Born in Argentina and educated at the Courtauld Institute, she brings more than two decades of experience across museums, galleries, and international arts organisations.
Before joining ERA, Trinidad was Curator at the Whitechapel Gallery, following roles at El Museo del Barrio and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. Her projects have championed innovative artistic practices and cross-disciplinary collaboration, including Is This Tomorrow?, Out of the Margins: Performance in London’s Institutions 1990s–2010s, and Making Love Revolutionary, a solo exhibition by Anna Maria Maiolino, the Golden Lion Award winner at the 2024 Venice Biennale, among other projects.
Prior to London, she spent over seven years at El Museo del Barrio, contributing to landmark exhibitions including Nexus New York: Latin/American Artists in the Modern Metropolis, Arte ≠ Vida: Actions by Artists of the Americas, 1960–2000, and The (S)Files, the museum’s largest biennial of Latino and Latin American artists.
Drawing on extensive networks across Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the United States, Trinidad works closely with ERA’s founder to strengthen partnerships and expand its programme, bringing greater visibility to Latin American voices in contemporary art.
